DETAILED ITINERARY OF ATLANTIC FOREST-BRAZIL 🇧🇷 PHOTO TOUR 

"BEST SEASON TO VISIT 15TH JUNE – 30TH AUGUST"

In the information below you will find all the details day by day about you visit to BRAZIL for your BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR. 

DAY 1

• Arrival to SAO PAULO Airport (GUARULHOS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) 
• I will be waiting for you at SÃO PAULO Airport in the arrival gate. After that the driver will take us to the HAMPTON HOTEL BY HILTON. (30 MIN. DRIVE) for spending de night and to be ready for the next day of the adventure. 

DAY 2

• We will start our (2h30 min drive) journey visiting a small family project that is starting in this area and they had the chance to attract some rare birds to the feeder station like: BRASSY BREASTED TANAGER, GOLDEN CHEVRONED TANAGER, BRAZILIAN RUBY, WHITE THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, BLACK GOGGLED TANAGER AND SOME MORE BRAZILIAN ENDEMIC SPECIES. OVER NIGHT IN MACUQUINHO LODGE.

DAY 3

• We will spend a whole day in the lodge, visiting the different setups around it. In the morning we will photograph in the hide looking for some rare species like: BROWN TINAMOU, WHITE SHOULDER FIRE-EYE, BURNISHED-BUFF TANAGER, PICAZURO PIGEON, RUBY CROWED TANAGER, RED AND WHITE CRAKE.   After breakfast we will stay photographing at the feeder station of the lodge looking for species of hummingbirds like: sapphire-spangled emerald, scale throated hermit, violet-capped woodnymph and some more.    OVERNIGHT IN MACUQUINHO LODGE

DAY 4

• After breakfast we will start driving to our next destination POUSADA DA FAZENDA, in this place we will go to photograph some endemic and unique species of birds that are in danger of extinction like: GOLDEN PAPPED PARAKEET, PLAN ALTO HERMIT, SWALLOW TAILED HUMMINGBIRD, AND SOME MORE.  OVERNIGHT IN POUSADA DA FAZENDA

DAY 5

• We will start our journey visiting some places around this small ville looking to have the best chances to photograph the target birds of this area like: STRIPE BREASTED STARTHROAT, WHITE VENTED VIOLETEAR, AMETHYST WOODSTAR, WING- BANDED HORNERO, BLUE NAPED CHLOROPHONIA AND SO ON.  Overnight in POUSADA DA FAZENDA

DAY 6

• This day we will we will continue with our journey to the next lodge where we will stay the next two days, this area is near to a protected area in Brazil, we will have chances to photograph species like: chestnut bellied euphonia, blue dacnis, Brazilian tanager, blond crested woodpecker, yellow-fronted woodpecker, green headed tanager, silver beaked tanager. Overnight in SALVE FLOREST LODGE

DAY 7

• In the morning we will drive to visit a private reserve LEGADO DAS AGUAS, in this location we will be focus to photograph one of the most beautiful raptors "BAT FALCON". This is the best location in south America to have a great picture of this bird hunting and giving and amazing show, even this place has some feeder stations where we will have some chances to photograph the endemic SAFFRON TOUCANET AND SOME BEAUTIFUL TANAGER ALSO.    OVERNIGHT IN SALVE FLORESTA

DAY 8

• This day we will start our journey in the hide of the lodge where we will look for the rare SOLITARY TINAMOU, and in some spots around the lodge we will try for the elusive manakins like: PIN TAILED MANAKIN, SWALLOW TAILED MANAKIN, RED RUMPED CACIQUE, and after lunch we will drive to our next lodge. TRILHA DOS TUCANOS. In this lodge we will have the chance to start photographing all the afternoon. OVERNIGHT TRILHA DOS TUCANOS. 

DAY 9

• In the morning we will star in the hide of the lodge looking to photograph some flycatchers and woodcreepers, we will try again the SWALLOW TAILED MANAKIN, this is one of the target birds in our trip. After breakfast we will stay at the feeder stations of the lodge waiting for chances to photograph RED-NECKED TANAGER (TARGET), RED BREASTED TOUCAN, SAFFRON TOUCANET, SPOT-BILLED TOUCANET, MAGPIE TANAGER, BLACK THROATED GROSBEAK, OLIVE GREEN TANAGER, AND SOME WOODPECKERS. after lunch we will drive to our next lodge DUCO LODGE overnight.

DAY 10

• We will spend our day photographing in a property near by the lodge. In this place we will have chances to photograph a lot of new species for our trip like: BLUE NAPED CHLOROPHONIA (TARGET), RUFOUS CAPPED MOTMOT, SPOT WINGED WOOD-QUAIL, TAWNY BROWED OWL, WHITE NECKED THRUSH, DUSKY LEGGED GUAN AND SOME MORE.

DAY 11

• Full day photographing in the lodge focus on the tanager feeders looking for: yellow fronted woodpecker, channel billed toucan, spot billed toucanet, blond crested woodpecker, Brazilian tanager, dusky legged guan, and white bearded manakin. Even this day we will do a MULTI-FLASH session to photograph some beautiful hummingbirds like: SAW BILLED HERMIT (TARGET-ENDEMIC), FESTIVE COQUETTE (ENDEMIC), BLACK EARED FAIRY, AND SOME MORE. OVERNIGHT DUCO LODGE

DAY 12

• This day we will start our journey after breakfast we stay at the feeder stations of the lodge looking to photograph some species that we miss the last days and after lunch we will star driving to SAO PAULO CITY.  This will be the longest journey on our trip (4h30min) to the hotel near the AIRPORT. 

DAY 13

• THIS DAY AFTHER BREAKFAST WE WILL DRIVE TO SAO PAULO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR YOUR DEPARTURE FLIGHT.   OR YOU CAN TAKE THE EXTRENTION TO PANTANAL PHOTO TOUR.
